Pranab Mukherjee was our parent and family friend: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep grief over the death of Pranab Mukherjee, a former President of India, a prominent politician of the subcontinent and a true friend of Bangladesh.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina mourned the death of Pranab Mukherjee.  Along with Pranab Mukherjee, the Prime Minister recalled many memories of the Bangabandhu family and Sheikh Hasina herself.

Sheikh Hasina said in the death of Pranab Mukherjee, India lost a wise and patriotic leader and Bangladesh lost a loved one.  He will survive as a shining star in the politics of the subcontinent.

The Prime Minister wished peace to his departed soul and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
